Albanian scientist Ardian Jusufi has been shortlisted for the Falling Walls Foundation Global Call for Science Breakthroughs 2026.

With his team at the Institute of Neuroinformatics, he builds soft robots that vary body stiffness, tail function, and sensing. These robots help study how body shape and movement let animals climb, recover from impacts, and move on hard terrain.

The work aims at more reliable robots and a less invasive way to study animal locomotion. The University of Zurich is cited as the source of the announcement.
